How to Change the Battery in an Acura Key Fob

Follow these directions for how to open Acura key fobs and the Acura key fob battery replacement:

1. Confirm you have the proper Acura key fob battery replacement, a CR2032 button cell battery. Double check with your owner’s manual to confirm what battery your fob takes.
2. How to open Acura key fob: press “tab” on the key fob, removing the traditional metal key.
3. How to open Acura key fob: Using the metal key, open the outer cover on the Acura’s fob.
4. Once the case is open, use a flathead screwdriver to remove the battery.
5. Replace the new battery in place of the old one with the positive (+) side up.
6. Put the fob case back together and press until you hear the click.
7. Place the metal key back into the Acura key fob, and you’re finished!
