Acura ARX-06 Electric Sports Car Performance

Garden City drivers can watch this electric race car crush the competition in the Rolex 24 at Daytona come January. If this sounds presumptuous, you have to keep in mind that this electric performance car will pair electric motor power with a bespoke, twin-turbocharged 2.4L V6 engine that features elements of Honda Formula One technology. This engine is tiny enough to keep weight down and acceleration swift and is likely to achieve 670 hp. Meanwhile, power and efficiency will be boosted by an IMSA-specified electric Bosch Motor Generator Unit and Williams Advanced Engineering battery pack. If anything sells the power of this electric sports car, it’s that its powertrain all but shatters its 10,000 RPM ceiling.

Acura ARX-06 Electric Sports Car Chassis

Honda Performance Design Acura has partnered with ORECA to develop a compliant chassis. While this trio is responsible for the chassis of the ARX-05 DPi, they’re taking a different approach for the ARX-06. All aspects of the new chassis are being developed in-house. The development includes running tests through HPD’s custom Driver in the Loop Simulators. All control system architecture that will be implemented has come out of rigorous testing and endless tweaking. Concrete details about the chassis have yet to emerge, as it remains in development, but our fellow Acura enthusiasts in Garden City can check this page for updates!
