So, who makes Acura cars? Honda, which is a Japanese automaker, is responsible for making Acura vehicles, as it created the brand in 1986. Soon after, the brand introduced its first Acura model called the Channel II, which made waves with drivers and soon saw more Acura models being manufactured and introduced to the U.S. and Canadian automotive markets. Its incredible luxury design and performance that was paired with Honda’s dedication to quality and standards proved to be a sure bet for foreign and domestic automotive customers looking for something new.

Where are Acura Vehicles Made?

While the Honda company has its roots in Japan, Acura models have been produced all over the world. Many drivers will be surprised to see that many of Acura’s most popular vehicles like the ILX, TLX, RDX, and MDX, are made right in our own backyard here in North America. One of the main places in the country where Acura models are made is in Ohio, where it has four production plants throughout the state in Marysville, East Liberty, Anna, and Russells Point, Ohio.  Out of the four plants in Ohio, the Marysville location maintains the largest production capacity with popular models like the Acura ILX and Acura TLX. It is also home to the Acura performance manufacturing center where the first Acura NSX supercar was made. At other Ohio Acura plants like the East Liberty plant, you’ll see where the Acura RDX and Acura MDX SUVs are made, while Anna and Russel Point plants are known for making celebrated Acura features like engines, drivetrain components, transmissions, four-wheel drive systems, and so much more.
